Northeast Indiana readers recognize the longtime elder law attorney for his service to older adults and their families.
We are proud to share that Keith P. Huffman has been named a finalist in the Elder Law Attorney category of the 2026 Fort Wayne Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Readers’ Choice Awards are hosted each year by Fort Wayne Newspapers to recognize the people and places that make this region special. Honorees are not selected by a panel. They are nominated and voted on by the community over several rounds, which makes this recognition especially meaningful to our firm.
Keith was admitted to the bar in 1980 after completing his undergraduate education at Adrian College and his legal education at Indiana University. For more than 45 years, he has helped families plan for aging, long-term care, and the protection of what they have worked for. His practice focuses on elder law, asset preservation planning, estate planning, and long-term care planning.
For many families, the first conversation with Keith comes at a difficult time. A spouse or parent may need nursing home care, and the family is unsure how to pay for it or what will be left for the spouse at home. Keith is known for explaining those options in plain language and helping families make decisions with confidence.
Keith’s work extends well beyond his own clients. He has been an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) since 1998 and is a former president of the Indiana chapter of NAELA. He is also a past Chairperson of the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and a frequent speaker on elder law issues.
In 2016, Keith received NAELA’s nationwide Powley Award, which recognizes one member each year for a commitment to serving older adults. The award was presented at NAELA’s annual meeting in Denver, Colorado, for his leadership in advocating for the elderly and disabled in Indiana.Keith also gives his time to organizations that serve older adults across the region. He serves on the board of Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana and on the Board of Directors of Stillwater Hospice.
Thank you to every client, family, and neighbor who took the time to nominate and vote. Your trust is the reason we do this work. Congratulations, Keith, and thank you for your commitment to the families we serve.
